I have a treat for all of you today. We're going to visit another of my favorite haunts in Morgantown. I love my little town. It is everything I love about small-town living. There are so many unique places to discover, and most folks are pretty friendly. Our destination is a late eighteenth-century house built from Pennsylvania fieldstone. It is nestled amongst beautiful Amish farms and it sports 18 inch thick walls. (Who needs air conditioning?) This particular country house is now home to Olde Peddler Wools. Now, I don't know about you, but when I hear the word wool, I think of yarn and knitting and crocheting. That's not even the half of it. Follow me on a tour of this unique shop and see how it is making a beautiful contribution to our town.
I don't know how many times I passed this sign before my curiosity finally got the better of me. I can't believe it didn't happen sooner.
The shop is celebrating their sixth anniversary with a huge sale.
Let's start in the back room. Isn't it cosy? Darlene, the owner of the shop created this wonderful space where folks can work on projects and share good company. There's a wonderful selection of books, magazines and of course, wool.
If you need inspiration, just look up. It's everywhere! Isn't this sweater the cutest thing?
Now we'll go back to the main room. The colors are breathtaking!
Wool isn't just for sweaters. Aren't the flowers hanging from the wool tote cute?
There are so many nooks to explore, and wonderful samples of exquisite needlework.
And just look at those wide-plank floors!

Now for my favorite part...watch your step. These old buildings have narrow stairwells.
Do you need to rest? Sit for awhile. I'll wait.
This is what I love the most...Rug Hooking. Would you like to learn how? There are classes here for rug hooking, as well as weaving, knitting, crocheting, etc.
The classroom is bright and cheerful.
Have you ever seen so much gorgeous wool in so many incredible colors? My heart starts to race when I come in here.
Their anniversary sale was fantastic! Needless to say, I left with a few bags of wool. Darlene tells me that she and her hubby spent all of last weekend dyeing wool in preparation for the sale. I was a very happy person!
I'm thinking oceans and sky.
Or perhaps, a lovely bunch of roses...
Let's go over to the other side. There are yards and yards of fabric that you can dye yourself or use as is.

Darlene has dyed samples to give you an idea of how some of the plaids look when over- dyed. Another thing I really like about this room is the hooked samples of the plaids. It makes it so much easier to plan a rug.
Do you need larger pieces of fabric? No problem! You can have them cut right from the bolt.

Is taking on a project from scratch a bit too much? No worries! There are plenty of wonderful kits to choose from.
Quilts are another way of using wool. It's so much fun to applique. You don't have to turn under the edges!
