How about if we go on a little antiquing trip? I think right about now, we're all suffering from a bit of cabin fever, and we need a retreat to warmer weather. Our destination is way out in Benton, PA. I took these photos in August. This place is antiquing heaven. Let's take the van...we'll need plenty of room so we can haul back our treasures. Roll down the windows. You can actually breath the air where we're going!
Don't get too excited. There used to be a bakery here, but no more. It is now antique central. Oh well. If I have to give up baked goods, antiques are the next best thing.
First stop, The Bakery Antiques Company. This is three floors packed to the rafters! Out front you can see my dh and my son: both bored out of their minds. Can you tell I'm really broken up about this? Sorry, hubby!
Step right this way...you're in for a treat!
I never saw this many antique hat pins in one place. I wanted them all. Aren't the holders beautiful?
There is beautiful hand painted glassware. Isn't the petaled edge on the one with the bird lovely?
On now to the ladies' boudoir...
That cupboard would be so wonderful in my kitchen.
This one wasn't open. Now we'll have something to check out next time.
Let's go across the street. There's plenty more to see!
Isn't this just the coolest store front? I want to live in this town!
More vintage kitchen items. They just say "home" to me.
There's no shortage of vintage glassware. I'm afraid to walk through here!
I have my eye on the red and white striped glasses on the top shelf. They'd go perfectly with my vintage kitchenware.
Have I ever told you how much I adore the old feed sack fabrics? This quilt knocked my socks off!
This sign would look great in a vintage kitchen.
It's a long drive home. I think we should stay at the Inn. It's right next to shops. If we get up early, we can get in a little more shopping before we have to start home.
