Some days are so hectic it's hard to make time to make art. I was too stressed. It was too late in the day to begin a painting - or so I thought. Then I thought about it some more. Being a professional is not about making money or winning acclaim. It is about focusing on what you do and refusing to let other things interfere. We become professional artists when we stop making excuses and start working...and we keep working. So, I threw out the excuses, cut a 6" x 8" piece of pastel card, and went to work.

Working small is good excercise for a pastel artist. It necessitates cutting all the fluff and getting to the essence of a subject. It was a small painting, but a big win. I'll be linking to Paint Party Friday. Have a terrific weekend!
Until next time,
