Hello everyone! It's Pink Saturday, and it's too bad the snow on the ground couldn't have been pink too. Wouldn't that be a sight to see? I'm sharing a mixed media art journal page for today. It's sort of a deep pink...if you stretch the imagination a bit!
The quote is from one of my favorite authors, Corrie Ten Boom. If you don't know her story, she is a survivor of the Ravensbruck concentration camp. She hid people from the Nazis in her home in Holland during WWII. They were eventually discovered and sent to the camp. Due to a clerical error, she was released one day before all prisoners her age were to be executed. She was the only one of her family to make it out alive. Years later, she faced the cruel Nazi guard who had once tormented her and beaten her sister, and she extended her hand in forgiveness to him. She spent the rest of her life sharing her faith in Jesus through books and speaking engagements, always encouraging forgiveness. You can take a virtual tour of her home in Holland and hear her story here.
I used a combination of luminescent watercolor, inktense pencils and pen and ink to complete my journal page. I'll be linking this post to Pink Saturday, Paint Party Friday, and Art Journal Every Day.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Until next time,
