Hi everyone! Does anyone out there have the Tuesday blues? Who says Tuesdays have to be boring? I have two words for you: ROAD TRIP!!! As promised, I'm going to take you on a little tour of my neck of the woods. Just give me a minute to grab my camera and a map...
Griesmer's Mill is located right next to the bridge. I love Pennsylvania field stone. The texture and colors are wonderful.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Hex Signs (the round colorful decorative signs above the bridges, there has been much debate as to their meaning. Personally, I think they're purely for decoration. If you are curious, check out this article in Amish Country News.
Before I could get my camera up, a beautiful horse and buggy went over this bridge. Now why can't they do that on cue?
Let it never be said that artists don't bleed for their art. I managed to climb down a steep, rocky hill to get this shot, but that's where my luck ran out. On the way back up I slipped and scraped my leg fairly thoroughly. It wasn't pretty -- I had gravel embedded in my skin, but I got my shot! (That's all that matters, right? :) )
This lovely church was across the road from the bridge. Aren't the windows amazing?
Is everyone still with me? We have one more stop on our tour. Get those cameras ready!
